Privacy policy

This notice explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website, sign in, request an account, use internal features or post in the forum.

1. Controller

Denny Vikic
Saarlandstr. 58

Germany
Email: kontakt@dezzycode.de

2. Server and security data

When you visit the website, technically necessary data may be processed, in particular your IP address, the time of access, the requested URL, browser/device information and session data. This is done to provide the website securely and to prevent abuse.

3. Sign-in and user account

When you sign in, your username, password and session data are processed. To secure sign-ins and keep them traceable, technical log data such as IP address, user agent and timestamp are processed.

4. Account requests

If you request an account via the form, the data you enter is processed to review the request and create the account. The request is logged; IP address, user agent and timestamp may be stored.

5. Internal features

For signed-in users, further data may be processed within internal features, such as notifications, log entries or administrative data.

6. Forum and sign-in with Discord

Anyone can read the forum at forum.dezzycode.de. To write, you sign in with Discord (OAuth2, only the “identify” permission). Discord gives us your Discord ID, username, display name and avatar – no email address and no password. Your name and avatar are shown publicly with your topics and replies; avatar images are loaded directly from Discord (cdn.discordapp.com). The downloads page links to Thunderstore; version details are fetched from Thunderstore by our server, your browser loads nothing from there.

To prevent spam, we store an irreversible hash of your IP address with every post and limit how many posts are possible in a short time. For every new bug report the operator receives an email notification with the content of the report.

Images: images you add to a post are stored on our server and shown publicly with the post. On upload they are re-encoded; embedded metadata such as camera details or GPS location is removed. Your activity: likes, votes on ideas, topics you follow, notifications (e.g. replies, mentions, status changes of your bug reports) and posts you report are stored with your account. Reports and their note are only visible to the operator. Who is online is determined from a pseudonymous session entry that is deleted after one day.

Discord channel: new topics can be posted automatically to the DezzyCode Discord server (title, a short excerpt, your forum name and avatar, the first image and the link). Discord Inc. (USA) processes this content; Discord's privacy policy applies there. Cookies and browser storage: the forum only uses technically necessary cookies (sign-in session, language, time of your last visit for “new posts” markers). Text you are writing is saved as a draft in your browser's local storage, on your device only, and removed when you send it.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the forum you use) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a working, spam-free forum and in fixing bugs). Posts are kept until they are deleted. You can delete your account at any time yourself under Settings → Delete my data: this removes your profile, posts, images, likes, votes and notifications; topics others replied to stay without your post. Backups of the forum are kept for 14 days and then overwritten. Of course you can also ask us to delete your data.

7. Retention

Personal data is only stored for as long as it is needed for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have in particular the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
